Chinese New Year

Last night the kids and I celebrated Chinese New Year. Just a little simple celebration. We made fortune cookies which were not as hard as I thought they would be.

Then we had a Chinese meal and made dragon masks. They loved their masks. Liam wanted his on again first thing when we woke up the next morning.

After watching YouTube videos on Chinese Dragon Dances, the kids performed their own dances to some traditional Chinese music. The girls have to wear skirts any time there's a dance, hence the skirts over their pajamas. Here's a short clip of their dancing. 

Then to top off the night the kids really wanted to watch How to Train Your Dragon. Not really Chinese. Well, not even Chinese at all, but who cares. They had a good time.
